Baldur's Gate 3 Reclass: How to Change Class

By Rachel Hickman

It’s limiting to be stuck with the same class, and Larian Studios seemingly knows that. The Baldur’s Gate 3 reclass feature frees players up and allows them to alter many aspects of their character. Here’s how to change classes in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to change classes in Baldur’s Gate 3

To switch classes in Baldur’s Gate, players have to track down Withers, the corpse-looking guy with a wiry metal headpiece covering his decaying bald head. Talking to him will let players change their class (along with their subclass and cantrips) for 100 gold pieces. This price does not grow after each use, meaning users are not punished for being finicky with their loadout.

Players do have to find Withers first, though, but thankfully this can be done pretty early on in the game after the Nautoloid ship crash. Go to the Overgrown Ruins, which is in the northern region of the map. Either pick the lock or use the heavy key to get in.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2023, but it looks as though a fourth entry…

Baldur's Gate 3 BG3 Naoise Nallinto

Can you have sex with Naoise Nallinto?

Once inside, you will see a rectangular stone hanging from a rope near the chapel entrance by a gnome and elf that are arguing with each other. Shoot it down and enter the hole it creates, which is called the Refectory. Head south to find a lever and pull it. This will open an area to the northwest called the Dank Crypt. Pick the lock on the door to the north and head northwest to find a button on a wall.

Pushing it opens a crypt. Head into that crypt to find Withers in his elaborately decorated coffin. Withers will then be at camp where players can change their classes at will. Withers has other uses, too, as he can help players revive fallen comrades (which costs 200 pieces of gold) or buy party members of specific classes (which costs 100 pieces of gold).
