How to Unlock the Secrets (Cheat Codes) Menu
Vampire Survivors has a lot of easter eggs and secrets that players can unlock. Thankfully, the game has a Secret menu where you can enter codes that will unlock new characters, features, stages, and more. In this article, we will discuss the steps to unlock this very helpful feature that can make the rest of your gameplay experience significantly easier and fun.
Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock the Secrets (Cheat Codes) Menu
To unlock the Secrets menu, you need to acquire the relic called Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by defeating a special enemy found in the Bone Zone stage. This stage can be unlocked by unlocking Hyper Mode on three standard stages.
Another required relic that you need is the Milky Way Map, which you can find in the Dairy Plant stage (third standard stage). Please follow the link for more information about obtaining this relic.
Once you're in the Bone Zone, open your map. You should see a question mark in the southern part of the map. This question mark is Sketamari, the special ball of skeleton that's rolling on the map horizontally. This is your target so you have to keep checking your map regularly as you make your way towards its location.
In this map, there are no pickup items (including healing chicken) from the light sources - only gold. This makes this map an ideal gold farming location later on. But if you want to survive, you'll have to rely on the passive healing from the Pummarola passive item or purchasing the power-up in the main menu.
Defeating Sketamari
Sketamari will get larger and larger as it touches any enemies. This can easily go out of hand since this boss will also increase its HP pool the larger it gets. Not only that but it can also absorb bosses and exp gems.
The best way to do this is to focus on improving your character weapons and DPS. You'll need to be able to defeat it quickly before it can amass a lot of enemies to the point that it is impossible to defeat. There are several ways of doing this and the strategy you'll need to apply will depend entirely on the characters you have currently available, if you have the Arcana system unlocked etc. One such example is this Reddit thread.
Defeating Sketamari using Poppea
What I personally did was to use Poppea and focus on leveling up her default weapon, Song of Mana, since it allows her to fire an almost continuous beam above and below her. This beam passes through enemies which enables her to damage multiple enemies at once.I have also tried getting the Spinach and Empty Tome to boost the damage and improve the cooldown of her weapons.
Around the 15-minute mark and with additional DPS weapons like Lightning Ring, Cross, Fire Wand, King Bible, etc, I have approached Sketamari and focused fire on it while moving side to side to destroy weaker enemies approaching it. As you fire on Sketamari, you hinder its movements while dealing damage to it. As long as you kill enemies before they touch the skeleton ball, you can retain its size and destroy it quickly.
How to Enter Spells (Cheat Codes)
After obtaining the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you should see the Secrets button in the main menu. There will be actually vague hints where you can find the spells but if you want to save time, you can just conveniently use our dedicated Spells page for the complete list of spells.
As you type a spell, actual letters will not be displayed. Instead, runes will appear instead. You don't need to press enter to activate the cheat. As long as you type the correct command, the runes (letters) will disappear. Some spells have effects like when you type the cheats to unlock Arcanas or new characters. (For unlocked characters using codes, you still need to purchase them with gold.) Thankfully, unlocked objects using cheat codes stay permanently unlocked in the game even if you restart it.
