 Marvel Snap: Tiebreaker Explained

By Rachel Hickman

Marvel Snap is a fast-paced card game with characters from Marvel Multiverse where the match gets decided in just six turns. With a total of 12 cards in a deck and getting matched against opponents who are in a similar range of Collection Level and Card Pool, getting a Tie during a match is very likely. And that is why you should know about Marvel Snap Tiebreaker. While the game explains how to break a Tie during its tutorial match, many players often skip through it by randomly placing cards. Continue reading our guide as we explain Marvel Snap Tiebreaker while talking about other associated things and recommend some cards that can help in breaking out such situations.

Marvel Snap: Tiebreaker Explained

Players must control two out of three locations to win any match in Marvel Snap. While trying to control the locations by playing your cards, there are situations where the opponent and you both have the same power at said location. It leads to a Tie, and to decide who gets to control that location, you need a Tiebreaker.

So, how do you break a Tie at a contested location in Marvel Snap? It is simple. You can do it by increasing power across all three locations. Make sure you have higher total power than the opponent. We recommend players play an extra card on the contested location to reinforce and take control of it.

If you outrank your opponent in total power, you will win the Tie in Marvel Snap. So instead of getting extra turns or something like that, it’s the cards you play that decide whether you win or lose a Tie. If you are in a scenario where you an in a Tie at a location with your opponent, you can use cards like Iron Man. Place it at a location where you have the highest power, as it will double it.

Alternatively, you can use something like the Hobgoblin, which instead of increasing the power, will decrease the opponent’s power. In short, to break a Tie, have higher total power than your opponent. In these situations, having a better understanding of different cards can get you a win.
