Minecraft World Editor Reportedly Coming Soon For PC Players

By Andrew Thornton

An easier way to build in Minecraft could be inbound.

Minecraft is an iconic survival game, and it’s going to stand the test of time. Players still enjoy logging into the game and generating random worlds to explore, adventure, and survive within. However, another massive component of this game is the ability to craft structures. You’re given free rein to build whatever you’d like in this title, and we’ve seen some genuinely remarkable creations in the past. But it seems that on PC, players may soon have an even easier time crafting up their unique worlds. That’s, of course, if a report is to be believed.

A new report from Insider Gaming has unveiled that fans uncovered a file within the Minecraft preview updates. This was a reference to Minecraft’s World Editor mode, which has yet to be unveiled to the masses. Still, since that discovery, fans of the PC version of Minecraft have been patiently waiting to see if there was an announcement coming to showcase this feature. Now, a new clip has surfaced online from an industry insider, Roger Badgerman, that shows off what the World Editor tool would look like.

Don't worry creators! I have things for you as well…
Here's a sneak-sneak peak at Bedrock's work-in-progress editor mode

This clip offers just a sneak peek of the work-in-progress build. But essentially, it provides players with the tools to create large sections of blocks rather than having to place each one down individually. There are even tools to duplicate sections of the map which should cut down the time to create large areas of a custom map. Of course, this might not be anything new for some PC players that have made use of similar tools through mods. But at the very least, it looks like we’re going to get an official set of tools to aid players in the future.

While this is reportedly coming to the PC, it would be interesting to see if other sets of tools will eventually land on console platforms. We’re sure that console players would enjoy having these tools as well, which again could cut down the time it takes to build up some of their custom-world creations. In the meantime, we’ll have to continue waiting to see if this World Editor tool is actually released into the game.
