This is due to the fact that you need to unlock certain items, such as the Merciless Copper Mace, which can only be found randomly. Knowledge Books can drop randomly from slain enemies or the Technology can be randomly researched with 50 Paper at the Research Desk

2. Build a Study

The Study is unlocked upon defeating Nicholaus the Fallen.

Building the Study structure requires the following materials:

1. 40 Paper
   • Random drop
2. 40 Plank
   • Crafted at the Sawmill
3. 8 Copper Ingot
   • Crafted at the Furnace
4. 8 Grave Dust
   • Dropped by Skeletons or Crafted at the Grinder with Bones.

3. Build the Paper Press

The Paper Press workstation is a random unlock at the Study. Players may need to obtain vast amounts of Scrolls in order to unlock it as each attempt requires 75 Scrolls.

Building the Paper Press structure requires the following materials:

1. 12 Plank
   • Crafted at the Sawmill
2. 12 Copper Ingot
   • Crafted at the Furnace

Crafting Paper at the Paper Press requires the following materials:

1. 4 Plant Fiber
   • Harvested from foliage everywhere
2. 12 Sawdust
   • Obtained at the Sawmill while crafting Planks
